Methodology
For this comparison, we generated 300 images with the same prompts on Midjourney V7 and DALL-E 3 (via ChatGPT). We evaluated 12 criteria: realism, consistency, instruction following, creativity, text in images, faces, hands, architecture, nature, portraits, artistic styles, and value for money.
Midjourney V7 — The artist
Midjourney is the reference tool for artistic quality image generation. Version 7 is a significant leap forward: better consistency, more realistic faces, and an ability to interpret artistic styles that remains unmatched.
Access: via Discord only (web interface in beta). This is the main barrier to adoption.
